Dress Up

Having a little girl has been an unexpected delight to say the very least.  I always wanted a little boy- and I will fully admit for selfish reasons.
I did not want to be responsible for "THE TALK" and all of the other stuff that comes with growing up and explaining.  I am fully aware that I work in the medical field, and can give "The Talk" but, I chose to hide my head in the sand....... this makes perfect sense in my world I may add.
Back to having a girl.............. fast forward to a HOT and sunny afternoon in July when we met with Sophia's biological mother to see if she even like us, and she showed us that sweet sonogram picture of OUR girl.  She was OUR girl.  I knew it the moment I saw that sonogram gray image...... that was MY baby.
They say you'll just know about a dress, a man, even shoes............ but I knew.
Fast forward to this funny, spunky and over all girly girl that I have, and all those daydreams of a boy are long long gone.  This girl is so stinkin' cute its too funny.  I no longer have small clutches or small purses..... they are now property of Sophia.  While getting dressed for church on Sunday, she looked up at me, after shoes were on and said, "Necklace??"  With such a look of appal that I would consider taking her off her changing table without a completed look.  She makes me laugh, she makes me nuts......... but she is in fact a mini version of myself........... if I had blonde hair, blue eyes.

But, lets face it, who could ever say no to being the momma of this face??
This was taken at my brother and SIL appt bathroom............ and plan on seeing more awesome photos by Leah (my SIL).  My brother and I want her to take up photography because she is a natural at it....... but she has her reasons..... so if you get a chance- tell her yourself about your love of her photos......... then again, I may not want to share my connection to this great artist.
For now enjoy the remainder of your day.  I am off to finish laundry, figure out a dinner plan, and finish up some projects for my etsy shop.  (More on that later- don't worry its in "vacation mode" so you're not missing out)

thanks!

As I sit here trying to come up with a clever opening blog post....... here are the current happenings 1810 (our house number) at the moment:
  • the garbage men are outside, and my dogs are going nUts!!
  • Sophia my 18 months old has found a mini flashlight and is insisting on making me say "AHH" for her every 15 seconds.
  • my to-do list for the week...........may turn into a monthly goal.... yuck!
  • we are nearing my 30th birthday.......... enough said.
I have no real idea in mind for this blog, other than to have a space to share the random happenings in my world of Mommyville, Craftyland, Wifehood and Randomland.   That's how we roll here at 1810.
Just to give you guys an idea of a day here- This is the famous Model- Sophia "Mini Moo."

Ironically I would call her Moo, after all the formula she would drink. (Pointed out later by my brother that cows don't really drink milk- thank you for that ruined bit of info.... but the name stuck)
That clown is in front of my FAVORITE boutique in Oklahoma we visited http://www.thecloverleafboutique.com/ while up enjoying the perks of a family houseboat trip.
Enjoy!
